Diagnostic and Therapeutic Innovations in the Era of Precision Medicine – Nuclear Medicine Meets Neuro-Oncology

The NMN Symposium: Precision Medicine, April 26-27, 2024, in Vienna, Austria

The NMN symposium aims to provide a highly interactive platform for scientific and educational exchange on the fascinating and clinically highly relevant aspects in research and application of nuclear medicine with a focus on malignancies of the central nervous system (CNS). Primary and secondary CNS tumors represent a particularly challenging and heterogenous disease entity, which is also characterized by a multitude of molecular alterations. Nuclear medicine is of particular relevance and carries an exceptionally high potential for improvements of diagnosis, molecular classification, planning of therapeutic interventions (neurosurgery, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy), assessment of therapy response and drug development (including assessment of blood-brain barrier penetration) in the field of Neuro-Oncology.

EACR-AACR Basic & Translational Research Conference in partnership with IACR

Organizers:  European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) & American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), with support from the Irish Association for Cancer Research (IACR)

Title of conference: EACR-AACR-IACR 2024: How to Bring Basic Science Discoveries to the Clinic

Date & Location: 27 – 29 Feb 2024 | Dublin, Ireland

Short description: The EACR and AACR are proud to announce the 2024 edition of their joint Basic and Translational Research Conference, organised in conjunction with the IACR. The forum will highlight the latest cutting-edge advances in the understanding of the genomics, epigenetics, and molecular pathways involved in the development of pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions, and in cancer response to therapy. The scientific programme blends basic and translational research from preclinical models to patients.

Topics include immunotherapy, cell-based therapies, novel/undruggable targets, drug combinations and resistance, the precancer genome, liquid biopsies, preclinical models, the tumour microenvironment, and epigenetics. The target audience is basic and translational scientists, experienced investigators and trainees at all levels with an interest in cancer development and treatment, and clinicians involved in the development of novel therapeutic approaches to treatment.

EACR 2024 Congress: Innovative Cancer Science

Organizers:  The European Association for Cancer Research (EACR)
Title of conference: EACR Congress 2024: Innovative Cancer Science

Date & Location: 10 – 13 June 2024 | Rotterdam, Netherlands

Short description:  The 2024 Annual Congress of the European Association for Cancer Research is a four-day meeting dedicated to basic, preclinical, and translational cancer research across a wide breadth of topics. It will highlight the latest findings and bring together the cancer research community to inspire innovation and build knowledge, connections, and collaborations. As well as cutting-edge scientific content, the Congress will feature a large industry exhibition with symposia and spotlight talks, Meet the Expert sessions, keynote lectures from renowned names in cancer research, ‘Career Discovery’ roundtable sessions for early-career researchers, a vast poster display with timetabled defence sessions, a ticketed conference celebration dinner, and many opportunities for networking.

Topics to be covered include: modulating the tumour microenvironment; drug resistance; mechanism-based clinical trials; precision cancer medicine in the post-genomic era; senescence, dormancy, and related cell states; metabolism and cancer; cell-based therapies; spatial analysis of tumours/spatial transcriptomics; mechanical forces of cancer; mechanisms of tumour metastases; targeting mitochondria in cancer; liquid biopsies; drugging tumour suppressor genes; imaging the tumour microenvironment; making cold tumours hot; drugging the RAS Pathway; modelling cancer; ageing, gender, and cancer; and more.

This congress will be suitable for cancer researchers of any career stage, working in either academia or industry, who wish to further their career and make connections by attending high-quality scientific talks and networking sessions.
